Jenkins of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, who cancelled the funeral
for a man he found out was gay, is apparently standing by his decision.
Though his last minute judgement to not do the funeral caused a

Pastor Funeralized Gay Man After First Church Changed their mind

It was a judgment call to cancel a gay man’s funeral when they learned that the surviving spouse was a “man”. To say the least, the congregation was livid when the obituary stated “husband” instead of wife...AT2W’s Take: Well, it may be wrong to be gay but every human being deserves to be buried. The deceased young man may have been gay and left behind a husband but the deceased man’s lifestyle is no more. Someone needed to stand up and do the right thing and perform the funeral because at this point at least someone may learn from the man’s lifestyle.
