NC Pastor Bradley Moss Faces Charges of Sexting a Teen Church Member and More

This so called man of God should be ashamed of himself as a father of five children of his own, this is appalling
The pastor of a Catawba County church in North Carolina was arrested on Monday and charged with 'indecent liberties with a minor'.

Pastor Bradley Moss, a 38 year old man from Hickory, was charged after an investigation by Newton police and the Catawba County Department of Social Services. Moss is pastor of Victory Empowerment Church near Newton. A 13-year-old member of Moss' church stepped forward after the young girl's mother said the pastor had sent the girl messages of a sexual nature. Moss' family was in court this Wednesday, and his bond was set at $100,000. He is due to appear in court again next month.

Reports stated the suspects father said:
"I support him, I have to. He's my son," said Moss' father Wednesday. "You would do the same thing."
In search warrants police said they went to Moss' mother's house and confiscated his computer, cell phone, 38 DVDs and other items. Police also used search warrants to gain access to his Twitter and cell phone account with Sprint.

The pastor denies ever being alone with the 13-year-old and he said the girl is a friend of his daughter. But there are text messages that tell another story. Police found text messages to the teen that he allegedly sent saying, "Babe everything in me wants to be with you. I want you to be MINE."

The report states in another text he spoke of how the 13-year-old looked in lounge wear. The married father of five also spoke about them getting married.
"I'd want you to have my baby...no adoption...you receiving my seed and carrying it and birthing him."
In the police report, both Moss and the girl said they did not have sex, but the girl said that Moss touched her breasts, legs, but and kissed her on the lips. Source

Pastor of Victory Christian Center Finally Speaks Out on Church Rape Scandal Cover Up

Pastor of Victory Christian Center Finally Speaks Out on Church Rape Scandal Cover Up

Pastor Sharon Daugherty of Tulsa's Victory Christian Center is finally speaking out about the alleged rape of a 13 year old girl by two of her former church employees accused of the crimes. According to reports, the pastor's staff, which included five in particular, where charged and released last week on failure to report the incident in a timely fashion. The church actually met with the victim and accusers; fired the accusers and waited 2 weeks before reporting it to the police and the parents!

Read UPDATE below or HERE!

The Associated Press reports this statement from senior pastor Sharon Daugherty:

“I want to personally say, that if anybody here is aware of any child being neglected or abused, physically or sexually, that you should please inform the authorities immediately,” Victory Christian Center pastor Sharon Daugherty said Saturday during services, according to the Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/SN2sD4). “Our children are precious, and we owe them our full protection.”
Police have said Daugherty knew about the abuse allegations, but trusted ministry employees to follow in-house policies on reporting such incidents. She has not been charged.

"I was briefly told of an incident involving two ... employees and members of 24/7 (a youth group) ... and was told it was being reported but did not receive any details on the specific allegations," Daugherty said. "I was extremely disappointed to later hear of the delay in the time it was first reported."
Apparently, the Tulsa police say the 13-year-old girl is among at least three victims of alleged sex crimes by two former employees. Her mother filed a lawsuit Friday, alleging that Victory Christian Center officials tried to conceal the reported incident in an effort at “damage control.” The lawsuit, first reported by the Tulsa World, seeks more than $75,000.

We were one of the first to actually state  the obvious cover up when the news first broke. We know many have an issue with going against the church but we are happy the truth is coming out.
Former church employee Chris Denman, 20, was arrested earlier this month for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in a stairwell on Aug. 13. He also is charged with molesting a 15-year-old girl sometime between Aug. 13 and Aug. 17. He has pleaded not guilty and faces an Oct. 11 preliminary hearing. He was appointed a public defender, according to court records, but that office couldn’t be reached Sunday.
Another ex-employee, Israel Shalom Castillo, was arrested Thursday after turning himself in at the Tulsa jail. He is charged with making a lewd proposal to a child and using a computer to commit a sex crime. It wasn’t clear whether Castillo has an attorney.
Five church employees — John Daugherty, Charica Daugherty, Paul Willemstein, Anna George and Harold “Frank” Sullivan — also each face one misdemeanor count of failing to report child abuse and are due to be arraigned Wednesday in Tulsa County District Court.

Parents Protest Priest Father Rolando Garcia After Alleged Sexual Allegations

Several parents protested at a Catholic school over pastor who was allegedly named in a sexual lawsuit and remains at the school. Parents protested at St. Agatha Catholic School Tuesday night.

One side wants Father Rolando Garcia removed from the Catholic School while the other side supports Garcia. "Simply put, I don't feel comfortable with him at the school, and I think it is appropriate for him to be moved," said parent Erica Garcia. The two sides are at odds because Father Garcia was named in another lawsuit alleging he abused a young boy at another church in the 1980s.

"My position is we are judging a priest without having anything from a court," said a supporter. The Archdiocese of Miami previously settled a lawsuit against Father Garcia in 2007. Garcia, a pastor of the school's Catholic church, regularly interacts with children, and parents are concerned. According to the Archdiocese of Miami, they have given Garcia a polygraph, which he passed and have allowed to him to remain as pastor. Parents are so worried, though, they have organized an on-line petition and want him to be removed until the second lawsuit is settled in court. "As parents, we are a little bit concerned there is a new allegation against Father Garcia," said parent Sebastian Rejon. Father Garcia denies all allegations.

Convicted Child Molester and Priest Alejandro Castillo Faces Another Lawsuit on Sexual Abuse

An Ontario priest convicted last year of molesting one boy has been sued for allegedly sexually abusing another.

The Rev. Alejandro “Alex” Castillo was released from jail in April after serving eight months for sexually abusing a then-12-year-old parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic parish in Ontario in 2008.

The civil suit filed Monday, Sept. 18, in San Bernardino County Superior Court alleges that in 2003 and 2004, Castillo also repeatedly sexually abused a teenaged boy in the same parish.

The parish, the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino, and the Riverside-based Western Province of the Society of the Divine Word, an order of priests and brothers, are also named in the suit. They are accused of negligence for not doing enough to protect the boy.
According to the suit, Castillo was “a known child predator” before he abused the teenaged boy.
The boy now lives in Mexico, said his Pasadena attorney, Anthony De Marco. He was 15 and 16 years old when the abuse occurred, De Marco said.
The lawsuit alleges there were complaints that Castillo sexually abused children in the 1970s and 1980s while in a seminary in Mexico and at the Divine Word seminary in Chicago. He later served as a Divine Word priest in Southern California.
De Marco said the Divine Word society was aware of the abuse complaints and had a responsibility to inform the diocese of them before Castillo became a diocesan priest.
In addition, Castillo regularly gave full-body massages to another victim in the early 2000s, the suit says. The victim, who was 17 or 18 at the time of the alleged abuse, is also considering a civil suit, De Marco said.
Castillo was sentenced to eight months for molesting the 12-year-old boy after pleading guilty to a charge of lewd and lascivious acts with a child younger than 14. He could have faced 22 years in prison if convicted of all eight felony charges against him. He entered the guilty plea in an agreement reached after the victim’s parents said they wanted to spare the boy the pain of testifying in court.
In September 2011, the parents of that boy filed two civil suits against Castillo and the diocese, one on behalf of the then-12-year-old boy, the other on behalf of the boy’s then-16-year-old brother
John Manly, an attorney representing the boys' family in their civil suit, said the case is ongoing. He believes there are many more victims.

Former Bronx Priest Sues NY Archdiocese for Libel in Sex Scandal Allegations

Former Bronx Priest Sues NY Archdiocese for Libel in Sex Scandal Allegations

A former Bronx priest is suing New York archdiocese for libel in sexual abuse allegations hes says are false. According to the accused, Charles Kavanaugh, he says his accuser recanted his story.
In Kavanaugh's court filing,  he says his main accuser has recanted allegations he made in 2002 that he molested him when he was a teen during a church trip to Washington, D.C.

According to a news report from NBC-4, which the accused is using to base his lawsuit, he was accused of getting into the accuser, Donohue's bed in the D.C.-area hotel room and rubbing against him. Donohue also said that when Kavanaugh held his hands during prayer, it made him uncomfortable.
Donohue said in court earlier this year that the D.C. trip actually took place when he was a college sophomore and not a minor, according to the New York Times.
Kavanaugh was convicted at a church trial. In May, Catholic church spokesman Joseph Zwilling said in a news release that Kavanaugh deserved to be kicked out of the church because there were "multiple counts" of sexual abuse.
"That is a flat-out lie. There are not multiple counts of sexual abuse of a minor," said Kavanaugh’s sister and attorney Ann Mandt. "And that’s why we sued them. Because it is a lie."
"I stand by the truthfulness and accuracy of my May 1, 2012, statement," he said.
Kavanaugh had been Vicar of Development for the Catholic Church in New York and served for more than 40 years as a priest. His last post was head of St. Raymond’s Church in the Bronx before he was defrocked.
For the last decade, Kavanaugh has called allegations against him "false" and repeatedly has demanded a "full and fair hearing" in public. His attorneys say they in part blame former Cardinal Egan, who they said was under scrutiny for allegations he mishandled abuse charges by other priests when he led the church in Connecticut.
Kavanaugh lost his job, his home and his pension and now counts on friends help and support in Florida where he now lives.

Child Rapist and Preacher Michael Charles Campbell Faces 60 years for Sex Assault on Girl

Reports say 48-year-old Volusia County minister, Michael Charles Campbell faces six decades in prison time after a jury convicted him of raping a little girl nearly six years ago.

Rev. Campbell of DeLand faces as much as 60 years in prison. The State Attorney's Office said he was convicted Thursday on charges of sexual battery and engaging in sexual conduct with a minor 12 to 18 years of age, the State Attorney's Office said.

Prosecutors say Campbell lured the girl to a motel for sex. Apparently he was able to do so by promising her help with her modeling career in a 'skit'.

The former Daytona Beach funeral home worker attacked the girl when she was 12 and 13.
As strange as this may sound, he picked the girl up in a hearse with a body inside after telling her father he wanted her to do some work at the funeral home, back in Dec. 2006.

Reports say:
They delivered a body to Daytona Beach International Airport and as they drove away, he told the girl that she might have to take her clothes off for the skit.
The girl said he told her he "might have to take a look at you first" and pulled the hearse off the roadway. She said she exposed herself.
Then they drove to a motel, where the girl said Campbell taught her how to put a condom on and kissed and fondled her.
They spent several hours in the room and afterwards, Campbell gave her $44, the girl told police.
In December 2007, the girl was taken to a motel for another "skit," but that time she tried to resist, even though Campbell told her "it was how Brittany Spears and Beyonce got their start."
This sick man needs to be locked up for a long time because he is a master manipulator. We can't imagine him using a hearse with a body in the rear of it, in order to sexual assault a young girl. We pray the girl received the help she needed to move forward.

The attorneys for the plaintiffs made this statement:
“Bringing these cases is important because until there is accountability it is difficult to begin a journey of healing,” said Anderson, who is also representing victims of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. “With the filing of these cases today, these courageous survivors can start to heal.”
Let's name  the defendants in the eight lawsuits:
  • Edward Avery, a former assistant pastor at St. Bernadette Church in the Drexel Hill section of Upper Darby and the former Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Chester
  • John H. Mulholland, former assistant pastor at St. Anastasia Church in Newtown Square and Blessed Virgin Mary in Darby
  • the Rev. John P. Schmeer, former assistant pastor at Sacred Heart Church in Haverford
  • the Rev. Robert L. Brennan, former assistant pastor at St. Pius X Church in Marple Township and St. George Church in Glenolden
  • Francis X. Trauger, former assistant pastor at Holy Cross Church in Springfield and parochial vicar of St. Joseph Church in Aston
  • the Rev. Msgr. Francis Feret of St.Timothy's School in Philadelphia
  • and the Rev. Joseph J Gallagher of Ascension of our Lord Church in Philadelphia.

Rev. Monsignor Lynn sued for sexual abuse
(Rev. Monsignor Lynn sued for sexual abuse)

According to the Delco Times, here's the downfall of all perpetrators:
Avery, Mulholland and Trauger have been defrocked; Brennan has been out of ministry since January 2006; Feret was found unsuitable for ministry in May 2012; Gallagher was placed on administrative leave following the 2011 grand jury report on sexual abuse by Philadelphia priests; Schmeer’s ministry has been permanently restricted since November 2004; A former Haverford resident, who was removed from active ministry in 2003 Avery pleaded guilty in March to abusing an altar boy in 1999 and is serving a two-and-a-half to five year prison sentence.
The claims in the lawsuit state all the other defendants "ignored abuse reports" about Avery for more than 10 years and failed to reveal he was among 35 priests identified by the Archdiocese in 1994 as being "guilty of sexual misconduct with minors.”

The investigation into alleged sexual abuse at Victory Christian Center has revealed more possible victims. There is one problem: Those possible victims are not cooperating with the police in the investigation.

On Tuesday, the Tulsa police stated they could have additional charges against suspects if the victims would come forward.

Sgt. Brandon Wykoff, a detective in the Tulsa Police Department's Child Crisis Unit, said: "We're trying to get these girls in for interviews," Wykoff said. "We're not exactly having cooperation with some of the parents."

VCC Says Employees Were Properly Screened, Staffers Charged in Sex Scandal

It appears the people over at Victory Christian Center in Tulsa are doing some damage control. They want the public to know that they went by proper procedures when hiring the two men charged with sex abuse on three underage girls, so they say.

Victory Christian Center issued a statement on Tuesday addressing the charges against two former employees accused of child sex abuse, Israel Castillo, 23, and Chris Denman, 20.

According to VCC, both young men went through the screening process included a nationwide background check and personal references.

Both Castillo and Benman passed the screening tests and the church found no history of any criminal activity.

The two men have been charged. Denman has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and child molestation ans has been arrested.

Castillo was charged Monday with lewd or indecent proposal to a child and use of a computer to facilitate a sex crime. He has yet to turn himself in.

Former Pastor Jack Schaap of First Baptist Church Face 10 Years in Sex Scandal

A megachurch's former leader Pastor Jack Schaap signed a plea agreement in federal court Tuesday. According to the U.S. attorney's office, he admitted he took a minor across state lines with the intentions of engaging in sexual activity.

According to a news release by the U.S. attorney's office, Jack Schaap signed the agreement the same day prosecutors presented a criminal complaint charging him with interstate transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. They have stated complaint had not yet been made public in the online docket late Tuesday.

In Schaap's plea agreement, he stated:
"I have agreed, as set forth in a separate filing with the Court, to wave my right to Indictment by a federal Grand Jury with respect to the charge of transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and to plead guilty to that charge," documents obtained by The Christian Post.
The docket report also stated: Schaap revealed the relationship with the young girl for two months and that he had taken her from Indiana to Illinois and Michigan to have sex with her, the documents show.

The 54 year old pastor was dismissed from his leadership role at First Baptist Church in Hammond in late July after telling church officials about an explicit relationship with a young girl.
The church issued in late July stated Schaap committed "a sin that has caused him to forfeit his right to be our pastor."
The FBI then began looking into the relationship between Schaap and a girl, who was 17 when the allegations surfaced.
Federal agents investigated whet
her Schaap transported the female church member across state lines for illegal sexual activity and whether she was below the federal age of consent, which is 18 years old.
Schaap is scheduled for an initial appearance in court at 3 p.m. today. Magistrate Judge Paul Cherry will oversee the court proceedings.

COGIC Chronicles: Bishop Charles Brown Victims Speak Out as Overcomers of Sexual Abuse in the Church

COGIC Chronicles: Bishop Charles Brown Victims Speak Out as Overcomers of Sexual Abuse in the Church

If you remember the story from last year, Bishop Charles Brown was accused of a sexual crime against a teen girl nearly 25 years ago.

The spiritual head of a local Pentecostal denomination has been arrested and booked with sexual battery on a teenage girl more than 23 years ago. New Orleans court records show that Bishop Charles E. Brown, 58, was released on $25,000 bond yet later raised to $1 million dollar bond.
The woman, now in her thirties, said at the time Brown was her aunt's boyfriend, and the acts occurred at his home.

She told police Brown recently reached out and asked to "friend" her on Facebook.  She told him she knew him to be an abuser and decided then to go to the police, the affidavit said.

Then, devastating news broke when The Church of God in Christ lifted the suspension of a New Orleans bishop after a judge ruled that the charges of forcible rape, sexual battery and indecent behavior brought against him were too old to prosecute.

On March 6th, a statement from the church said its General Board had removed the suspension against Bishop Charles E. Brown and would have no further comment. The statement did not indicate that the denomination sought to interview the alleged victims. Brown was unavailable.

So, as you can see, the Bishop appeared to get off pretty easily earlier this year but now so fast Mister Brown. Apparently, the victims of Bishop Charles Brown have come forward and are speaking publicly.

Take close listen to the audio interviews on The Dumanis Word Blog, Parts 1-3.

NOTE: AT2W will return with our review and take on the interviews of these brave women who faced and overcame sexual abuse in the church.

Seattle Minister of Musician Timothy Dampier Gets 22 Years for Sex Crimes on Boys [UPDATE]

tim dampier charged with 22 counts of molestation
(Tim Dampier)
UPDATE at bottom of page. To read entire story start here:

Seattle Minister and Musician Tim Dampier Plead Guilty to 22 Counts of Sexual Misconduct

In May 2011, Pastor R.L. Manaway of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church set up a meeting between an adult male member of his church and minister and church musician Tim Dampier. The church member accused Dampier of molestation the October before. Pastor Manaway took it upon himself to have the two discuss the issue instead of going to police. The state of Washington does not mandate clergy to report sexual abuse to the local authorities.

Court documents stated during the meeting, Dampier reportedly admitted that "playful" touching occurred but denied molestation.

After Dampier was arrested, investigators say he finally admitted to molesting that victim named Kenny M. and several other boys.

Kenny M. told Fox News it took 10 years for him to come forward:
"Anything like that would make anyone feel suicidal and that's what I had," he said. "So that's why I had to let go and tell somebody because I couldn't hold it to myself."
Kenny M. was only 9 years old in 2001 when the incident occurred and he, as well, was a church musician. He stated Dampier liked to be affectionately called 'Uncle' or 'God Dad'.

Moving forward, the Seattle minister and musician Tim Dampier plead guilty of sexual abuse of young boys on last Thursday which charges him with 22 counts.
According to reports, Timothy L. Dampier, 39, abused 10 boys between 1997 and 2011, some members of his congregation, other members of youth programs he played a role in, according to the King County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors say his guilty plea is for charges that include:
  • first- and second-degree rape of a child
  • first-, second- and third-degree child molestation
  • sexual exploitation of a minor
  • and possession of child pornography

(Pastor R.L. Manaway)

Dampier has conveniently been serving in positions with easy access to young children to prey on as a foster parent in Seattle, Bellevue Boys & Girls Club worker, and a group home worker in Kent, and the Union Gospel Mission.
Dampier came under investigation by Seattle police after one of his alleged victims came forward in April 2011 and told police Dampier had started sexually molesting him when he was 10 and continued for three years, until 2002. The man, now 21, told police the molestation occurred in Dampier's van after church functions throughout King County, authorities said.

Other alleged victims and witnesses came forward during the investigation, according to court documents. Another man alleged that Dampier raped him, masturbated in front of him and showed him child pornography when he was between 12 and 13 years old in 2001 and 2002.
Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of 22 years in prison for Dampier who faces a sentencing range of 20 to just over 26 years in prison.

UPDATE on Feb 24, 2013:

Former Seattle church minister and singer Timothy Dampier was sentenced Friday to 22 years in prison for molesting and raping nearly a dozen boys between 1997-2011.

Standing before a courtroom full of his victims and their families, Dampier told them he was remorseful for his crimes.

Dampier will serve his sentence at the Monroe Correctional Complex, where they have a specific unit and treatment program for sex offenders.

When Dampier is released, the judge ruled, he cannot have any contact with children or work at any church.

Central California Priest Father Michael Kelly Sued Once Again For Sexual Abuse

Central California Priest Father Michael Kelly Sued Once Again For Sexual Abuse

This case is pretty disturbing to the fact this catholic priest is being sued once again for allegations that he sexually abused another victim in the past.

It was only months ago, reports say Father Michael Kelly was named in a suit which settled for $3.75 million between Fr. Kelly and an abused victim; claiming he sexually abused a child in the early 2000s.

Now, here's a new lawsuit against the disgraced minister for more allegations of sexual abuse against children. The California Diocese of Stockton, members of the clergy and Fr. Kelly are being named in the suit. In specific, the names mentioned in the suit Bishop Steven Blaire, Monsignor Richard Ryan and Father Michael Kelly, a native of Tipperary in Ireland.

Reports state:
Fr. Kelly joined the Stockton diocese in 1973 after completing his seminary studies in Thurles, Co. Tipperary. He returned to Ireland after a civil jury had ruled that Fr. Kelly had indeed molested a young boy. Since it was a civil case, Kelly had broken no law by leaving the country.
Fr. Kelly wrote a letter to Bishop Blaire of Stockton, stating his innocence and he says the allegations are affecting his health back then.

Unfortunately, now, more charges have been brought against the priest. The Complaint for Damages charges the defendants with ten counts, including sexual battery, fraud and intentional affliction of emotional distress, seeking punitive damages.

The plaintiff’s attorney Vince Finaldi hit the priest hard with facts that can not be refuted stating:
“Father Michael Kelly was known by the Diocese of Stockton to have allegations of sexual misconduct with minors lodged against him in the past.
“They ignored their statutory duty to report his crimes to law enforcement and placed him in a position of trust and authority as pastor of St. Andrew Parish. There he used his position to sexually assault my client, who was 12 years old at the time of his abuse.
The complaint states that Father Michael Kelly:
“…had previously been accused, by several individuals, on multiple occasions dating back to the 1970’s of engaging in sexual misconduct with minor parishioners of the Diocese of Stockton…” and “…had been sent for psychological evaluation, counseling and treatment as a result of these transgressions.”
A California licensed psychologist conducted an evaluation of Fr. Kelly in 1999 and concluded the Fr. Kelly should not minister to children alone or families with children.

This new complaint alleges the diocese, Bishop Blair, Monsignor Ryan and Fr. Kelly conspired to conceal the sexual misconduct which was targeting Fr. Kelly. It also alleged they wanted to protect their reputation while donations continued to be collected.

The Irish Central reported:
On August 6, 2012, a San Joaquin County jury unanimously found Michael Kelly had committed sexual battery against another victim, decorated Air Force officer Travis Trotter, when he was a minor in 1984-1985. The day after the verdict, Michael Kelly fled the United States to his native Ireland and the Diocese subsequently settled the case for $3.5 million.
John Manly, the attorney for Travis Trotter, said, “I call upon law enforcement to track Michael Kelly down and return him to California to answer for his horrible crimes against innocent children.

Pastor Sharon Daugherty's VCC Church Staffers Face Charges For Failure to Report Sexual Abuse

Victory Christian Center in Tulsa

We just reported this week that Victory Christian Center in Tulsa has been questioned by the local police into how they handled accusations of sexual assault at their church. It was reported they interviewed victims and suspects, fired subsequent suspects and notified parents and police two weeks later.

Well, it appears there was seemingly a cover up for a sex scandal that would have riddled the church. This is exactly what the church did, according to reports. Now, days later, staffers at Victory Christian Center may be charged with misdemeanors in the case.

Read report below from KRMG:
Five staffers at Victory Christian Center face charges of failure to report child abuse, a misdemeanor, after they apparently knew about the reported rape of a 13-year-old girl as well as other sexual improprieties by VCC employees but failed to tell police for more than two weeks.

Court documents obtained by KRMG indicate Paul Wilemstein, Anna George, Harold (Frank) Sullivan, Charica Daugherty and John Daugherty each face one count of failure to report child abuse.

Also Monday, Tulsa County D.A. Tim Harris' office charged Israel Castillo, a former VCC employee, with one count each of lewd or indecent proposal to a child and use of a computer to facilitate a sex crime.
Chris Denman was named by one of the victims as a suspect for use of a computer to facilitate a sex crime.

Denman and Castillo were interns employed at VCC at the time the reported crimes occurred last August. Those charges are considered felonies.
5 Victory Christian Center employees arrested

Finally, there is a spokesman for Victory Christian Center who released the following statement Monday evening:
District Attorney Tim Harris filed charges today against five employees of Victory Christian Center for Failure to Report Abuse or Neglect of Child Under 18.

The employees involved were a high school outreach program director, an associate youth pastor, the director of the Human Resources department, and John and Charica Daugherty, who work at the church as sr. high youth pastor and assistant sr. high youth pastor.

Last Friday, in response to the delay in reporting the alleged rape, Victory Christian Center suspended three of these employees who were aware of the allegation and did not report it in a timely manner in accordance with an internal policy on reporting suspected cases of abuse or neglect. The police investigation additionally determined that John and Charica both had some awareness of this incident. Because of this finding, the ministry has also suspended John and Charica in accordance with our disciplinary policies while we continue an internal investigation.

Again, we ask that your thoughts and prayers be with the victims and their families.
John and Charica Daugherty married of VCC

Let's keep in mind that John and Charica Daugherty are related to the pastor, Sharon Daugherty of Victory Christian Center. John married Charica Jacobs in May 2010. John is the son of Sharon and late husband Billy Joe Daugherty. They have been suspended (most likely 'on administrative leave with pay) from their church positions yet the other staffers were fired for their involvement in the case. Quite convenient, we'd say.

Tulsa's Victory Christian Center Questioned How They Handled Sexual Abuse Allegations

Tulsa's Victory Christian Center Questioned How They Handled Sexual Abuse Allegations

We have some really disturbing news about what one church did not do to protect others in their congregation.

Court records have shown that Victory Christian Center in Tulsa waited two weeks before reporting allegations that a man had raped a 13-year-old girl.

Tulsa Police said two employees of Victory Christian Center in Tulsa are accused of having sexual relationships with two underage girls.

Police officers were called but Victory had already interviewed the victims and the suspects. Following the interviews, the church then fired the two men before notifying the girls' parents or police on August 15. Records show they contacted parents and police on August 30.

Oklahoma law states the obvious: Any person who suspects child abuse must report it in a timely manner.

Child Crisis detectives are accusing Victory Christian of not following protocol or policy in this type of situation.

Court records state:
The two Victory Christian adult employees met the two girls at summer camp and stayed in touch with them through Facebook and cell phones, exchanging sexually explicit messages and engaging in sexual relationships, however neither girl is old enough to legally consent, according to a report from NEWS6 in Tulsa.
One of the girls told police one of the men who forced her was named Chris Denman. She stated he hit her until she resisted.

Denman was arrested last week and has been charged with four crimes, including rape and child molestation.

Police are disappointed that weeks in between the incidents and the reported has affected the case:
"I do think it did have some harm, because we had forensic evidence that was gone by the time we were notified," said Corporal Greg Smith. "There were persons we needed to talk to, who were no longer there and it took time to track them down. There have been some problems with the delay."

"We can prove our case, but it would've been easier and much more solid a case, had we been involved from the beginning when we could gather all the evidence available then—not what's left over two to three weeks later," Smith said.
Smith said he wants everyone to know they have a legal obligation to report suspected child abuse in a timely manner. Specially trained professionals should have handled the interviewing of victims and suspects.
One prosecutor told me it's hard to believe an organization the size of Victory Christian wouldn't be aware of the reporting requirements, especially after all the publicity at Penn State recently.

Failing to report suspected child abuse, in Oklahoma law, is a misdemeanor.

TBN's Alleged Deathbed Declaration From Paul Crouch Sr is Questionable

We have to ask you once again: Who really follows people like this? We may be redundant in our query but really, would any of us in our right minds send one red cent (old school term for 'a dime') of our hard earned money to a women who looks like this? It all seems like a big joke at the circus and they have been laughing all the way to the bank for years now. Just saying... Enough said.

Now, as peculiar as the photo looks and not sure why she needs to make such an expression while holding a handwritten note, but it is apparently a part of some handing over of the network to their son, Matt Crouch.

Read the report below:
A photograph entered into the court record of what appears to be Jan Crouch, her head tossed back in ecstasy, showing off a letter that is alleged to have been written by her husband, Paul, on what was assumed to be his deathbed.
In this letter, according to documents filed in Orange County Superior Court, the ailing Paul Crouch Sr. decided who would lead the Trinity empire after he was gone. It would not be his namesake, son Paul Crouch Jr. – but another son, Matthew Crouch.
“The photo was taken by Matthew Crouch in mid September 2011 while Paul Crouch Sr. was in the hospital suffering from congestive heart failure,” says the declaration of Michael Koper. “Apparently, Matthew Crouch and Jan Crouch were celebrating what they believed was Paul Crouch Sr.’s impending death and Matthew Crouch’s promotion to President of TBN that would subsequently occur.”
Its clear to us all Paul Crouch Sr. has yet to pass on but Matthew Crouch is, indeed now in charge of Trinity’s day-to-day operations.
The photo of Jan Crouch holding the letter was included in  a 70-page declaration filed in support of Carra Crouch by Michael Koper. The letter  is supposed to help suss out whether he and Brittany Koper are bound by an old confidentiality and arbitration agreements they had signed with Trinity.
This folks is going to be a long uphill battle between the Crouches, their granddaughter and former employees of TBN. Like we stated in previous posts, we've been waiting a long time to see the TBN empire crumble and we pray the people start using more discernment before giving to scoundrels like these.

Former French Prime Minister Faces Charges in Corruption Scandal

Former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin was in police custody today after being arrested in connection with a corruption scandal.

The 58-year-old has been implicated in a fraud enquiry centered on the prestigious Relais & Chateaux (R&C) hotel and restaurant club.
Regis Bulot, 64, a former senior manager at R&C, spent seven months in prison this year while waiting trial over the alleged theft of 1 million pounds through over-charging for the club’s guidebooks, which are available all over Britain.
De Villepin is a close personal friend of Bulot. The close friends and their families have often holidayed together in R&C hotels all over the world.
Now transcripts of telephone conversations have emerged from late 2011 which are said to prove De Villepin tried to stop R&C’s new management from proceeding with court action against Bulot.
There are also suspicions that some of the money siphoned away from R&C may have been used to fund De Villepin’s political career.

Chain in chains: Relais & Chateaux own luxury resorts all over the world, inculcating the Xara Palace on the island of Malta, and is now at the centre of the fraud scandal involving de Villepin

Bulot has admitted to receiving illegal cash payments but denies involvement in any illicit political financing.

De Villepin admits going to see the new R&C management about his friend, but insists it was at their invitation.
‘I have strictly nothing to feel bad about,’ he said before his arrest. ‘To try and implicate me in a story in which I have nothing do with is unbearable.’
The scandal also follows former president Jacques Chirac receiving a suspended prison sentence for fraud last year.

Nicolas Sarkozy, Chirac’s successor, is also facing allegations that he received illegal cash payments from Lilliane Bettencourt, France’s richest women.
Both Chirac and Sarkozy were once close cabinet allies of De Villepin, a fellow conservative, but they have since all fallen out.
Police confirmed that Mr De Villepin was being questioned at a station in central Paris following a request by judges sitting in Strasbourg, eastern France. He can be held for up to 48 hours before being charged or released.

Brunswick Pastor Patrick Edouard Found Not Guilty on Sexual Abuse, Guilty on Sexual Exploitation

pastor patrick edouard found guilty and not guilty of sex charges?

Brunswick Pastor Patrick Edouard Found Not Guilty on Sexual Abuse, Guilty on Sexual Exploitation

A jury in the Pastor Pastor Edouard case has announced a split verdict on last Friday.

Edouard was found not guilty of three counts of third-degree sexual abuse but the jury found him guilty of all four counts of sexual exploitation by a counselor, therapist, school employee or clergy. They also found him guilty of having a pattern, practice or scheme to sexually exploit.

News reports from KCCI:
Four women in Edouard's former congregation at Covenant Reform Church in Pella said he used his influence as a pastor and counselor to draw them into having sexual relations. Three of the women said the first sexual encounter with Edouard was rape.

Assistant Iowa Attorney General Scott Brown said they were hoping for convictions on the sex abuse charges and believed they had the evidence to prove them.

“Ultimately, in the end, we’re just happy and very pleased with the outcome,” Brown said. “We knew the sexual abuse charges were a real uphill battle because of the nature of the relationships that our victims had with the defendant.”
Pastor Patrick Edouard faces up to nine years in prison.
“We’re very pleased with the verdict. We know it was a very difficult case, difficult for the victims, difficult for their families, difficult for the jury to hear the type of evidence they had to hear, and we’re very happy with the verdict that was entered,” Brown said.

Former Priest Michael Stephen Baker in Prison for 12 Felony Counts of Sexual Abuse on Boys

Former Priest Michael Stephen Baker in Prison for 12 Felony Counts of Sexual Abuse on Boys

A former priest Michael Stephen Baker pleaded guilty five years ago to 12 felony counts of sexually abusing boys was arrested last month at the Resort at Pelican Hill, the OC Weekly reported.

Baker was arrested on Aug. 17 after he was discovered violating his probation while standing next to a pool where children were swimming. He's now in a county jail.
“Baker pleaded guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court in 2007 to 12 felony counts of oral copulation with a person under the age of 18 for abusing two boys he met during the 1980s,” the Weekly reported. “His original sentence was 10 years, but California justice being as skewed as it is, he was released just last year.”
Corona del Mar resident and lawyer John Manly, who specializes in sexual abuse cases and has two cases against Baker that are scheduled to go to trial in November.
“I have to give credit to the parole officers who tracked him there and got him,” Manly said. “They did a good job. But there is something fundamentally wrong with our system that he could do this. He’s a really, really dangerous pedophile. The fact that he’s a mile from my house is not exactly reassuring.”
This man was probably playing things close all along thinking he'd get away with it. Not!!

Ft Worth Pastor Darrell Wayne Blair Charged on Allegations of Sexual Assault of Teen Girl

New Breed Christian Center
Ft Worth Pastor Darrell Wayne Blair Charged on Allegations of Sexual Assault of Teen Girl

Just another day and another pastor accused of sexual crimes against children. This case declares the pastor has allegedly been able to cover the sins he committed but today, the victim says 'no more'.
Darrell Wayne Blair is the pastor at New Breed Christian Center in Fort Worth, Texas was arrested Monday and booked into the Crowley Jail, on charges of sexual assault.

According to a Crowley Police report, a warrant was issued for his arrest on Monday morning and around 4 p.m. By Monday afternoon Blair turned himself into police where he was arrested and booked into jail.

Pastor Blair immediately posted out on a $25,000 bond and was released.

According the the police report, one of the alleged incidents took place in May 2000 at a residence in Crowley. The New Breed Christian Church pastor in Fort Worth is being charged from allegations stemming from a sexual assault in 2000 when the woman was 18.

The woman, who is now 30 years old, told Crowley police on August 21 about the alleged abuse which she says began in 1996 when she was 14 and ended in 2000 when she was 18 years old. She told authorities she kept quiet about the abuse stating she "did not want to report the incident until now due to Darrell owning a gun and she was in fear of retaliation."

Authorities have said there is no statute of limitations in sexual assault cases, so Pastor Blair will most likely face the court with the allegations.

Some the the allegations are detailed as:
The report states that Blair allegedly entered the victim's bedroom when she was asleep, woke her up and allegedly assaulted her.
On another occasion, the report states the teenage girl was allegedly assaulted in a vehicle, and allegedly assaulted a third time in a home.
On the last incident, the woman went over to the Crowley residence to clean it and Blair was there. He is accused of performing a sex act while she was on the floor and told police that Blair told her that she owed him that because it was his birthday, reports state.

(Photo: totalpraise360.com)

According to the report, the victim confided in a person at the time of the alleged assaults, and police were able to find that person, and the person "had intimate knowledge of [redacted] and the sexual abuse she suffered." This person she considered a friend, advised her to keep quiet about what had happened though she originally wanted to report in at that time in 2000.

On Blair's the church's website, Blair is considered an anointed minister and also gospel-recording artist. He was formerly a member and lead singer of Kirk Family and the Family. and he founded New Breed Christian Church with his wife LaTonja. LaTonja Blair is a minister at the church as well.
From our side of things and many may agree, the pastor has a few strikes against him to start with. Let's go down the list according to how we see it:
  1. We know people will think this is shallow but the pastor and his wife, in our opinion, don't appear to be very holy. We have to think about it: If you were serious about God, could you really follow these two? Discernment must be used, people. Our spirits didn't lead us to think of the purest coming from them.
  2. The pastor was a member of new age gospel group Kirk Franklin and the Family. This brought up red flags everywhere. We know people love them some Kirk Franklin; we think because he was fun and radical but many people agree with us that Kirk Franklin took the gospel and its purest form and threw it out of the window. Quite frankly, it was made out to be a joke and this is how we see the pastor and his wife. (Revised)
  3. Also, what's up with their photo above? Why does it appear that all they seem to be publicizing is her breasts? If this is suppose to display a godly image of them, then they are certainly missing the mark. (Revised)
  4. We watched a few videos of them preaching and singing and we are wondering: Where is the anointing? People follow church leaders like this but are they truly getting fed the word of God from a proven vessel? According to number 1, 2 and 3, this sums it up.
So, we are happy that the victim came forward and if the pastor committed these crimes, he should be punished for them. We don't rejoice when pastors get accused or found out, but the victims need justice. No church leader deserves to be an undercover predator and get away with it. God always brings the dirty deeds to life.

Boston Area Priest Arrested on Repeated Indecent Assault of a Child Charges

An Episcopal priest in Somerville was arrested last week on charges of repeated indecent assault of one of his child parishioners over a 10-year period, the Middlesex District Attorney’s office said. Here's yet another priest or man of the cloth who violated his own statues against God and mankind.

Read report from Boston.com below:

Reverend Paul A. LaCharite, 65, of Boston was arrested on one count of assault with intent to rape a child and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child, said the district attorney’s office.

“We allege that this defendant, holding a trusted position within the Episcopal Church, indecently assaulted and touched the victim over several years, only ending his 10-year-long predatory abuse of the victim when the defendant left the church,” Middlesex District Attorney Gerald T. Leone, Jr. said in a statement.

LaCharite began inappropriately touching the child in his office in the 1990s, Leone’s office said.

The victim was in elementary school at the time and his family were longtime parishioners at St. James Episcopal Church in Somerville, where LaCharite worked as a priest, the statement said.

The alleged assaults stopped when the victim was a teenager and LaCharite left St. James Epsicopal Church. The victim revealed the priest’s alleged abuse to authorities this week, the statement said.

Michigan Church Youth Minister Arrested On Sex Charges

Youth pastor arrested on sex charges
Michigan Church Youth Minister Arrested On Sex Charges

A youth minister at Holy Trinity Catholic Church is expected to receive third degree criminal sexual conduct charges involving a young female.

Matthew Abid, 30, the youth minister, is expected to be formally charged Monday while he faces the judge in his first hearing.

According to police records, there was a warrant for his arrest on September 7, 2012 for the sex charges. The Kent County Jail confirms he was arrested Friday.

The Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids says Abid had a sexual encounter with a teenage girl and released from his duties in August.
"He’s been working there since 2009, he was a youth minister, part time, leading youth programs for kids and teens affiliated with Holy Trinity Church," said Carl Apple, Director Of Communications for the Catholic Diocese Of Grand Rapids.
Apple explained there are training and requirements needed for obtaining a position like this at a church.
"There have been a lot of changes made in the last 10 years in the Catholic Church, he had to go through a nationally recognized program called protecting God's children, he had to sign an understanding of ministerial guidelines," Apple stated.

According to the Kent County Sheriff's Department the girl was not an active member of the church, but attended a weekly youth group there.

The relationship started in the fall of 2011, when she was 15 and continued after she turned 16.
Police are not sure if there are any other victims at this time.

New Hampshire Pastor Arrested After Being Caught with a Prostitute Sting

Pastor Robert Oliver arrested in prostitution ring

New Hampshire Pastor Arrested After Being Caught with a Prostitute Sting

A Christian pastor in New Hampshire has been arrested after being caught with a prostitute.

Robert Oliver is the pastor of a new Christian church, the Plymouth Brethren Assembly, in New Hampshire. Its only been two weeks since its opening and Oliver was arrested after an undercover cop caught a prostitute getting into his car.
According to the Union Leader, the police report states that the officers followed the car to a parking lot, where the prostitute entered in the back seat of the vehicle. The police then arrested Oliver who was caught by surprise.
Pastor Oliver recently moved from Canada where he was the pastor of a church to the states with his wife. They stated the move was from God and that He wanted them to come here to start a new church.

Well, it appears it doesn't matter where this pastor would have ended up. He fell for the temptation of sleeping with a prostitute after he stated God moved him there to preach. We wonder what kinds of things went on in Canada as well.

Craig Lamar Davis May Be Charged in Clayton and Fulton Counties on HIV Reckless Behavior

Craig Lamar Davis May Be Charged in Clayton and Fulton Counties on HIV Reckless Behavior

There are two metro Atlanta women have accused a Clayton County man of exposing them to HIV.

Police say Craig Lamar Davis may have exposed an Atlanta woman and a Union City woman to the potentially deadly virus. One of the women says she has tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. As the law states, it is illegal in Georgia to knowingly expose someone to HIV. Davis may be charged in other counties as well in the future.

Craig Lamar Davis is out on bond in both cases and awaiting the completion of grand jury investigations in Fulton and Clayton counties, which could take months. Through his attorney Davis denies some of the charges.

Local Atlanta newspaper interviewed with Davis’ attorney show that Davis, 41, met the Union City woman online on a social networking site. That woman claimed Davis is a married man and has stated he is a pastor, but that account has not been confirmed. In fact, Davis denies through his attorney that he is a pastor.

AJC.com reported:
Davis was arrested in mid-July by Atlanta police, said John Turner, his attorney. The Union City woman told authorities that Davis had sex with her four times before telling her he was infected, according to a report filed with the Clayton police. Authorities discovered Davis was wanted in Fulton on a similar offense.

In that case, the Fulton woman alleges she had been celibate for 15 years before engaging in a sexual relationship with Davis, Turner said. Police records show she said she tested positive for the HIV virus in January and filed a police report in April, a month before Davis allegedly began a sexual relationship with the Union City woman.
Davis is charged with reckless-HIV, a felony that carries a sentence of one to 10 years. Reckless-HIV charges are rare, authorities said.

Davis' attorney John Turner said:
“There’s a lot of factual inaccuracies,” Turner said, noting that Davis told him he never had sex with the Union City woman and “that’s what we intend to prove in court.”
For your information, here's Georgia's law on reckless behavior:

Georgia Code - Crimes and Offenses - Title 16, Section 16-5-60

(1) Knowingly engages in sexual intercourse or performs or submits to any sexual act involving the sex organs of one person and the mouth or anus of another person and the HIV infected person does not disclose to the other person the fact of that infected persońs being an HIV infected person prior to that intercourse or sexual act;..
